Vlad Shumakov
PTR Level 1 & Level 2 Certified Tennis Professional with over 12 years of competitive tennis experience. Vlad founded VS Tennis Academy with one mission—to create a positive, encouraging environment where every player can build confidence, develop strong fundamentals, and enjoy the game.
A former Florida High School State Champion and nationally ranked junior player, Vlad combines professional coaching with a patient, supportive approach that helps children and adults learn, improve, and love tennis for life.

Fernando de Aguiar Barros
a São Paulo, Brazil native and former NCAA Division II tennis player and college assistant coach for Bloomsburg University, bringing international playing experience, college-level competition, and a strong coaching background to players in the St. Petersburg and Clearwater area.
Fernando developed through the Brazilian junior tennis system before continuing his career in the United States through prep school and NCAA Division II college tennis. At Bloomsburg, he helped lead the Huskies back to NCAA regional competition for the first time in 18 years, giving the program the opportunity to compete for a spot at nationals. He also recorded a 9–5 singles record, including an undefeated 5–0 singles season in 2022–23, and later gained college coaching experience as an assistant coach.
Fernando’s coaching focuses on clean technique, footwork, consistency, point construction, and match-play strategy. He works with kids, juniors, adults, beginners, and competitive players, tailoring each lesson to the player’s goals and level.
